COVID-19 return to Work help

For employers getting their staff back to work.

Working with associates at Winning Ideas Ltd we are offering organisations a cost effective support mechanism, to help navigate some of the recent complexity. We will assist you to do the right things and keep your business safe!

This staged approach has 3 modules from which you can chose one or all, according to your particular business needs.

After our initial consultation with you, we will give you a price for the work, based upon the number of days we estimate to complete the task and any additional expenses, such as travel and accommodation that we will need to incur.

We can work remotely or on site, according to your business needs and ability to meet the social distancing guidelines.

MODULE 1: Risk and Control Self Assessment. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 states that all employers with 5 or more employees must have a Health and Safety Policy. Many organisations will feel that they have more than this one policy to review before they can take comfort and evidence that they have done all they can to protect staff returning to work. And staff will trust that they have done the right thing.

We will support your risk and control self assessment (RCSA) process across your whole organisation, enabling you to include responses to the COVID – 19 requirements quickly. We can provide policy templates if you need to write additional policies and advise you on what ‘good’ looks like. We will make it easy for you to carry out future RCSA’s yourself, as and when the pandemic situation changes. We will also help you to do the following things now:

  • Identify hazards
  • Assess the risks
  • Control the risks
  • Record your findings
  • Review the controls

MODULE 2: RETURN TO WORK PLAN. Having decided when it is likely that the government advice will allow you to bring your staff back to work, it may help you to create a Return to Work Plan to help you manage the different phases and tasks that need to be completed for each.

We will write you a project plan that both responds to any ‘return to work safely protocol’ published by the government and takes into account any vulnerable working groups (which should now be included in your Health and Safety Policy), such as workers over the age of 65 and under 18, migrant workers, new or expectant mothers, people with disabilities or underlying health problems, as well as those employees who may have vulnerable family members at home.

It should also take account of external factors which may affect certain groups’ return to work rate, such as commuting time and methods, ability to work remotely.

We will create a risk and issues log to help you manage problems and uncertainties during the execution of your plan.

MODULE 3: THE PEOPLE BIT – ENGAGEMENT AND COMMUNICATION. It is important for both successful execution and the well being of staff that you manage timely and straightforward communication in order that you can help staff transition back into the work place safely and happily.

We will help you organise a list of all your staff and sort them into relevant stakeholder groups, supporting your communication strategy. We will help you to draft out effective messaging, which is appropriate for each of those groups and then align them to your Return to Work Plan.

We will help you to organise the flow of queries created by your staff communications.

We will record roles, responsibilities and accountabilities for the people involved in executing your plan.
